My date-me experiment round has drawn to a bittersweet close. I feel pretty pessimistic about the idea of finding someone to date who I'm excited about. Any suggestions on how to increase the chances of meeting people I'd romantically like?

Why has it drawn to a close? Why not run this experiment again, maybe a dozen times?Even the best dating heuristics are probably gonna take several very serious attempts.

I ran a second survey, didn't get any more responses that felt promising. I suspect this is supplemental; as in, if someone in my community I vaguely know takes the survey and scores high, that seems like a better candidate

I'd say just go to conferences and other social events where you're meeting lots of new people and hopefully you'll eventually stumble across someone that you find yourself thinking about a lot when they're not around. And if you're lucky, they're thinking a lot about you too.

Maybe try a hobby that is disproportionately but not overwhelmingly male - eg quite a few sports. Worst case, you'll have a new hobby.

Stop looking for somebody who his good enough and start working on making yourself somebody who is good enough and the universe will do the rest.
