Simple, clear language is really important; it keeps you legible to both outsiders and yourself. If you *need* lots of complicated language to prove a point, that's a red flag - e.g. religious ppl having complicated terminology to force sense into their ideas. 1/

This is a pretty pervasive issue I see in social justice issues; many of the words they use sound complex and authoritative, but to me this is a giant red flag. It serves as a smokescreen asking you to just trust them, without providing concrete (and thus challengeable) claims.

Complicated language is weaponry for discussion as dominance dispute. From a primate point of view the individual who can make louder complicated noises for longer and doesn’t back down wins Ideology is a sort machinery for producing such language

Honestly it's a matter of marketing. This peice is visually a nightmare. Even if the text was clearly written, the layout and color scheme are confusing to the eye.

The problem I have with this defund the police stuff is that it takes a Rose coloured view of human nature, that with proper support and programs there would be no bad. Unfortunately we've seen time and again you have to cater to the lowest denominator in people.
