Price gouging prevents hoarding by folks who don’t really need - or at least don’t need a lot - of such products, paving the way for better resourced organizations to acquire them and ensure they end up in the right hands.

I could argue raising prices on bikes in this situation as good. For gas, there would be downside. For baby formula, that would just be criminal.
emergencies? strongly morally bad if they can limit orders per customer. to be able to provide in such a situation is crucial to any well-functioning society
