I watched an old home video where I was a child and had got ahold of the camera and it was very much like this. Super fascinating to see where my attention went, paid a ton of attention to mundane objects

imo being bored occasionally instead of hyper stimulated constantly is what allows for the development of imagination

I'm not sure I buy this. I was hyper stimulated as a child constantly through books and my imagination was nearly cripplingly vivid

books i think are special because you *have* to imagine what’s happening, it’s something to do with visual / auditory stimulation specifically i think
