If you press the button, internet discourse (from total strangers) gets permafiltered (unless directly linked to you) to only show ppl talking about things that've affected them directly (only ppl who get doxxed talking about doxxing, immigrants talking about immigration, etc).

Using an uncontroversial topic as an example - cancer. The perspective of a cancer survivor is important, but it is infinitely more important to hear from the doctors and scientists researching it. This filter would filter out a necessary outside perspective - actual expertise.

This would be a good way to learn secrets about some individuals, or even to solve mysteries. Victim could tweet about the violence of suspect X, and then you check if you got the tweet.

If it were offered as a *switch* I might occasionally flip it, and I might surprise myself by keeping it on most of the time. But definitely not a permanent thing.
