*Both* gender critical and anti-gender-critical are getting mad at me for this one (in screenshots, not QTs), which really tickles me. To clarify for both, I find both trans women and ashkenazis great, I think being brilliant in physics or mathematics or whatever is admirable.

At this point, if I hear someone referring to an absolutely brilliant woman they deeply admire for her work in advanced theoretical physics or mathematics or something, I assign something like 50% probability to the woman being trans

It also feels weird to get called antisemitic for this? I think ashkenazis are smarter, they seem to have the kind of outcomes you expect from genetically smart people. And re: the trans thing,

That’s incredibly tokenizing, and assigning traits based solely on ethnicity has always been racist. Sit down and listen to Jewish people instead of acting defensively when you’re called out.

Taking a quick look through the comments and rt’s not too many people out there are agreeing with you. But looking for an “official” Jewish opinion is a false start. We are a group of millions of people, we aren’t a monolith so there won’t be a monolith opinion.

I don't desire for people to be offended based on what I say, but if the way to solve this is me changing what I'm saying, then I would rather not do that. I will not pretend ashkenazis *aren't* on average smarter just because some people get offended by it.

Like, this is actively and morally important to me. I have spent a long time around people who got offended at things I thought or did, and after getting out I was like wait, actually I should have been allowed to express myself and *they* shouldn't have stopped me.

I support changing to being non-offensive whenever we can; I advise people who don't support trans people to nevertheless use the pronouns because it's not a big change in order to be kind and gracious. But I will not ever change opinions I hold about reality because of offense.

please consider that listening to the convenient and comfortable opinion of a marginalised group usually results in reinforcing white supremacy or other harmful ideologies. if you always discard the opinions of those voicing concerns you automatically reinforce the status quo
