there hasn't been any significant inflation in the last decade, and afaik my friends haven't predicted it before. (maybe one or two, but in this case it was pretty universal agreement)

TBF I’m not very charitable with inflation hawks because they *have* been predicting inflation since 2008.

yeah maybe thats the case among general populace, but in my social group my experience was not hearing very much inflation for many years, and then suddenly everyone was like 'guys i think we're about to get wrecked by inflation' all around the same time almost a year ago

I’m still on the fence about whether this is “real” inflation or if it’s the result of non-monetary factors. Am waiting until demand shifts back to services and supply chains are unfucked to make that judgement.
