the real underlying news story of constitutionDAO, which I think is genuinely powerful, is a bunch of randos gathering to say fuck you to wealthy private collectors. That it’s a rare OG copy of the constitution is mostly symbolic, but it’s a fantastic choice of symbol too

IMO it’s primarily an act of civic resistance against the encroaching of private ownership of public goods. what’s next? buy a golf course and make it a public park, maybe. whatever is the most symbolic version of that. “You want our property? you can’t have it”
