Where's the option for 'I like this question as a prompt for discussion and original seeing, but it's not the kind of question with an *answer*.' Or rather: either the answer won't matter, or it will require a lot of legwork to unpack what's valuable about being 'democratic'.

This would work if every billionaire was a self-made inventor or pioneer. Many are just sitting on oil, snatched a formerly state owned utility, or married a billionaire.

Replying to
(Not) casting a vote is a much freer decision and thereby more democratic - in order to NOT add to the fortune of a billionaire you basically have to retreat to the woods and live as a hermit. Casting a vote furthermore requires no wealth - unlike having economic influence.
