Never in recorded history or modern day science has it ever been shown that an organism has gained naturally DNA/information - mutations change DNA around and can change species but that is different from gaining DNA/info

Evolution of organic life seems clear. The origin of life--"evolution" of inorganic matter into organic life--seems less clear.

anthropology professor told us monkeys got to brazil when a large chunk of land got washed down the congo river, out to sea, and landed in brazil. that was a bridge too far for me

The concept that really made it click for me was this: Individual creatures don’t evolve but rather are only data samples that can be compared to earlier data samples. It is the gene pool (i.e. an individual breeding population) that evolves, NOT the individuals.

I answered “Yes, fully” because I do recognize the theory of evolution as valid and that genetic mutation plays a role, but I also FULLY believe that there’s a ton we don’t understand yet.
