This is actually a pretty radical claim- high IQ doesn't increase the odds that one has reasoned correctly? It's a social nicety to listen to everyone anyway, but the idea that my uncle with Downs who believes WWE wrestling is real is just as likely to be right..... Really?

I actually think there's probably a correlation between IQ and being more right, I was trying to be pithy and couldn't figure out how to stick a tongue in cheek feeling in there without going over the tweet limit. I'll add on another tweet now

There's an opposite selection effect that often gets ignored. Roughly: A high IQ person can suboptimally solve a problem and it doesn't carry a high processing cost. A lower IQ person cannot juggle as much, and so will either fail, or discover and use the optimal solution.
