A turning point for me personally was realizing that I needed to give myself space for unconditional care, without which I would be excessively attached to care from others, and unable to generate care for others in a stable way

I only want care without needing to return anything. I except to be cared about in a purely transactional relationship based off of what I give. Which seems empty, like I am not truly valued. I want to value and be valued intrinsically rather than transactionally.

Doesn't reciprocity comes natural in those case scenarios? I can understand getting annoyed at unrequested unconditional care, but if you crave it how could you not care back?
