Maybe rightists have the "future rich person syndrome" where they defend rich ppl cause maybe it'll be them one day, but if so then leftists have "future poor person syndrome" where they resist acknowledging wealth earned by hard work and ingenuity because that's impossible

I have yet to see someone ultra wealthy actually work for most of that money. Hard work and ingenuity never made someone a billion dollars. Taking advantage of people did.

What about “and ingenuity”? Jeff Bezos is ultra rich yeah somewhat because of his hard work, but mostly because of his vision and intelligence.

The idea and the absurdly effective implementation and scale, yeah, the idea is literally worth that much money and more. Amazon is worth an unfathomable amount of money. You don’t have to like it, but they don’t just hand people their net worths for fun. People provide value.

Bezos literally had a 300K loan from his rich parents to start amazon. I think there is more involved in just "ingenuity." It takes a lot of luck, hard work, and OTHER PEOPLE to make someone rich, especially as rich as that.

I started with basically zero and no help from my parents and I get people telling me im rich and privileged and not allowed to have opinions about stuff like this. It's that kind of mentality I'm referring to here

Well, that is wrong. My point isn't in reference to millionaires, I am exclusively referencing the ultra-rich. I think most left-leaning people can distinguish between those two groups, but perhaps not amongst those you talk to.

Did you have an education. Are you white? Not everyone has the same opportunity. Accidents of birth play a huge role in determining SES and wealth. Not discounting the other individual factors, but no one is 'self-made'.
