Doctors have fucked me up beyond belief. My own experiments have led to greater restoration to my gut health than anything medical docs or functional medical doctors have done and I’ve worked with some of the finest. Keep at your experimenting!

Is that an argument though for getting more than one professional medical opinion rather than the average person just trusting their own research? This is dealt with quite a bit in Noise (Kahneman, Sunstein, Sibony). Amazing how noisy doctors are.

I went to Italy and had a ton of tests done. I lived there for three years and they identified that I only had an H Pylori infection. My gallbladder was infected but an ultrasound revealed no gallstones. I'd recommend going to Europe and getting a thorough evaluation done

Modern medicine has expanded to such a huge business model that the level of competence and skill has be degraded. At one point doctors where the best and brightest, education has lowered standards and we now have many very poor docs and nurses.

There is a mismatch between what we think healthcare does and what is realistic with available resources. Doctors should realize and be clear that advice falls between science and "art", which can lead to gaps. Do you find there are limits to your approach?
