In ten years, an unspecified but very bad event will happen to you. Would you prefer to be told when and what, or would you rather live in ignorance?

Once I know it’s coming, I want to know what is coming. But I’d rather not know that it’s coming in the first place.

I value knowledge, and hate surprises, but chose ignorance. I thought about it first, but still can't articulate why I chose it.

ignorance, assuming i can't mitigate the event, because that would make it a not-very-bad event

Nothing I can do to avoid it or ameliorate the consequences, I assume? It happens how it happens with identical consequences regardless?
In that case I'm indifferent to the choice

know, so I can unwittingly contribute to it's realization by trying to avoid it

Since just knowing something bad will happen will cause the same level of anxiety, I prefer to know so I can prep for the aftermath.

I’d like to see this done with an age component. The older I get, the less I want to know. I feel this is common.

I mean if you know when and what you could possibly plan for it depending on what it was. A job loss for example.
