Would you support an event where everyone who works directly inside an industry, gets to vote on if they think the industry should be fully deregulated (and if it's a majority, the industry is deregulated)? (Other laws not directly related to the industry still remain in place)

Obviously the answer to this should be no. Regulation is generally about protecting people *outside* the industry. Example: if everyone in an industry voted to deregulate it such that anti-trust laws do not apply, the industry can easily just form a cartel and jack up prices.

'man, these toxic waste regulations are digging into my margins. good thing they only affect a few impoverished villages downstream so no one in power will notice when we coordinate to abolish them'

If someone leaves an industry does their old vote get nullified? Do people new to the industry get new votes? Or would it be one specific time to vote, and it's never able to be changed afterwards? Either way I'd still vote no, but logistic questions should be asked.

Most industry insiders are dumbasses, and the ones that aren't are definitely biased because they are at the top of their own little fief with not much comprehension of the other fiefs.
