i often sort of assume as a general vibe that i must have made some really outrageous, indefensible, cancellable tweets in the past, but every time i go look im like wait no that was actually pretty reasonable.

You have to be able to risk and make mistakes in order to say something new and possibly useful. Self censorship is the enemy of progress. Group censorship only serves to push bad ideas underground. Cancel culture is about the self hate of the canceling.

I wouldn't call it cancelable or offensive but "school is worse than global warming" was pretty out there.
