A detailed account of an experience at Leverage, a company/group that was close to my community in the last few years and was notoriously secretive about what they did.

Haven't been on here much lately-- I've been working on something very important to me. It's a piece about my experiences at Leverage Research for 2.5 years. I think it contains some really important elements for others to know. Read it here: medium.com/@zoecurzi/my-e

It’s really hard to follow this story. What is leverage? What’s their deal? What do they claim to do? Reading it the author is so careful to caveat everything that you can’t figure out the bigger picture.

Leverage was/is a group that occurred overlapping with my social circle in the bay area. It was kinda unclear what they did from the outside, they touched on a lot of things. They're run by Geoff Anders, someone who is still active and getting funding.

Leverage was(is?) a rationalist/EA-adjacent group in the bay area. They're not self-identified post rats (tho i think there's a lil overlap). They were pretty big at one point; when I lived in the bay running into Leverage ppl was a common thing. I went to a Leverage party once.
