one thing i hate more than anything is that if i go reveal my (birth) name to any hardcore evangelical christian/group anywhere they immediately go email my parents to let me know they talked to me and what i said and what i was like. It's like a giant spy network

and it happens rarely enough i keep letting my guard down, like im having a nice friendly conversation with a street preacher or somthing and then im like 'oh yeah i was raised by evangelicals too' and then next thing you know ive casually revealed too much info and BAM im doomed

like some months ago i joined a hardcore christian server and in a casual voicechat i revealed my name, and then after i logged off i realized fuck wait shit they might tell my parents. i then messaged them like 'pls dont email my parents' and they were like 'why not, we want to'

i mean they were a lil more polite than that but basically it was clear that 1) they were in fact intending to let my parents know i was chatting there and 2) they didn't really want to adhere to my request to not tell my parenets

Challenge their faith, reply, "as a confessed practicing Christian, contacting my family after being asked not to is a violation of my trust and the teachings you profess to believe. Where is your loyalty? To your saviour or to other mortals?"
