Do you meditate? || Have you had the experience of suddenly and permanently losing your inner voice?

Not currently, but I should really get back into it. And yes, I've had the experience of my mind becoming quiet enough where the object of meditation stops being what it is. For example, observing sensations of the breath, losing the awareness that it's my breath I'm observing.

Permanently as in completely unable to hear yourself speak in your head ever again? That's a thing? :O

How would anyone know that it’s gone permanently? Why can’t it return in 13 years unexpectedly?

In wonder if I would have any desire to be on Twitter at all if I had lost my inner voice or experienced any lasting ego death...

Used to have an inner dialogue, turned into a monologue on March 23, 2019. Not recommended.

Not sudden or permanent - did have a thing on a retreat where I suddenly *noticed* my inner voice ("Wait why am I narrating my experience to mysef?")
Sometime after that it went away / was too subtle to notice for ~3 years. Got some super mega upsetting news & it came back

Had this on acid:
Awareness of body attached at the head, but floating out the back.
Dissolving of boundary between body & room.
Then room & street outside.
Dissolving into the town, then into all time.
Years later, same thing after practicing yoga.
Inner voice only when writing.

Permanently is a strong word there. Anyway I dont even see loosing that voice as the goal at all.

I've never really felt like I had much of an inner dialog. Recently tried introducing THC to my life. Boom. An actual dialog/conversation going on in my head. Bless me away to think this is how some people are on the daily.
