You can find tweets where I argue strongly that black communities have worse rates of things (e.g., adultery); please consider them in context. I also argue sex workers have higher rates of mental illness, and if you took that out of context you'd think I was anti-sex work!

Reminder that those bad outcomes (higher levels of crime and poverty) have existed forever so can't possibly be downstream of 'drug wars' which are only a few decades old
-
Iirc the black community was doing remarkably well in the 50s and 60s, at least besides all the racism; when I looked into this I remember finding they didn't have nearly the same levels of crime as they do today.

Murray, Sowell et al argue overly generous welfare policies were particularly damaging to black familly cohesion. The general unraveling of familly ties that began in the 70's may have been particularly damaging to blacks, whose lower ave assets may have made them more vulnerable

I don't think the down sides of welfare can compare to this:pic.twitter.com/vvukwifbmj

are they though, not are there though, referring to the bad outcomes. again, complicated, hence my previous post on my thinking related to sticking to individual cases when it comes to crimes and avoiding - for frankly I’m not even sure what’s the purpose - racial/ethnic stats.
