I didn't mean economic class, I meant uh.... there were good terms I forgot. The "liberal/university educated/city living" class, and the "conservative/gun owning/farm working" class

Stupidity/intelligence often isn't the issue here; my dad, for example, has a 3std-above-average IQ and believes evolution is a lie. It's easy for brilliant people to believe very wrong things, they're just more effective and thorough at believing them.

Ok, but it still seems very infantilizing to humor these peoples probably wrong and harmful beliefs. At least call a spade and spade and don’t pretend like they haven’t been misled by propaganda
