I did *not* expect an effect this large, I'm really surprised. 40% of ppl with abusive childhoods are into bdsm, whereas 25% without abusive childhoods are into bdsm. !!!!!!!

An interesting question is how much of this is genetics? I.e is abusiveness and bdsm linked in some genetic way that passes from parents to children

Apologies in advance if this is already known information, but there is a rapidly growing field of inquiry called "Epigenetics" that deals with secondary encoding of information into our genetic sequence that occurs *during* a lifetime and is hereditary. One such mechanism... 1/2
