hey its kinda fucked up that in the US someone can be old enough to go to war, but not old enough to buy a beer.

Hahahaha, amusingly when I was under 21 I felt the same. By my late 20's I was like "fuck that. I don't wanna drink with any goddamn kids..." Not sure how I feel about it now, but fuck it. Let's shake things up a bit...

Respectfully, I disagree with lowering the drinking age. That said, I do agree that the "age of adulthood" should be uniform for everything, including buying booze & enlisting in the military. Raise it all to 21. Marriage, enlisting, tobacco, alcohol, etc.

It's really weird and as a foraigner I'd bet that's a formal law almost no one really cares about. I mean, it's pretty normal to let children right above 10yo to sip some wine on Christmas here, while formally the drinking age is 18yo.
