every time someone calls me a whore part of me feels a little disbelief that people still actually mean whore as an insult. It almost feels mythological, as if the insult 'whore' only appeared in old timey stories, and it takes me a sec to realize oh, you're not joking?

It is a barometer for how their life is going… if only they understood that what you say, gives you your life. They are not responding to you… your interpretation is not a response to them either… ha ha

Obviously people shouldn’t be cruel, but there is nothing antiquated about feelings of reluctance around casual sex. Some people don’t have those attachments and accordingly have very different attitudes toward sex.
Both are real and genuine.

I can see someone using it as you would, f.e., "peasant", meaning someone who earns their living by unskilled physical labour, since in many cultures that's viewed as lower class than intelectual professions.
No offense meant, just trying to think what their reasoning could be.

As if sleeping around is a sign of something bad. It’s like they equate it with betrayal or something (not including cheating which is a social contract violation to be clear) that shows a lack of trustworthiness. 🙄
