thought was obvious but to clarify: ending all school with decent alternatives would probably end up hugely helping our fight against global warming. can you imagine what our civilization could do if as kids we were trained how to actually think in a non-traumatizing environment?https://twitter.com/Aella_Girl/status/1424533275956060167 …

And 90% of my friends (including myself) didn't. The focus should be on what made it traumatic for your friends and how can we address and fix that. Not remove all education completely. If my grandma gets sea sick on a cruise, I'm not going to say we should destroy all boats.

Hard for me to imagine how to make school not traumatizing in a way that doesn't completely restructure the entire thing from its fundamental operating principles

Are you sure it's not observational bias: 90% of your friends *who talk about it*, with those who just had a neutral experience not talking about, and possibly those who had a positive experience shutting up for fear of being shunned? Where I work, school really lifts kids up,

it gives them access to culture and perspective they'll never have gotten from their family background. We're lucky to have a good team of teachers, and it stays stable. I can imagine how it could be if the political will was to make it work rather than destroy it.
