School as it currently exists is one of the worst things about civilization. If I had to choose between stopping global warming or ending all school (with decent alternatives) I would probably end all school.

Can you point me to any articles where I can read about this point of view? Or a podcast to listen to? It's pretty alien to me and I want to understand more!

I should probably write something; but basically, I was homeschooled and find a lot about normal school to be absolutely horrifying and everybody else takes it as normal. no it's not normal to socialize with only pps of your own age and have so little spare time

Do you mean just mandatory public schooling? Because if we eliminated *all* school, many people would still seek out tutors etc. and eventually somebody would "bundle" a package of tutors together and rent a building and boom, you just invented private school.

Climate change is potentially a civilization ending event. It could make 1/3 of the planets landmass uninhabitable and will cause mass extinctions.
I’m all in favor of reforming public education, but it’s a nonissue compared to climate changes

I think public education as it currently stands might indirectly be a world ending event. if we had better education, we'd probably be way better equipped to handle global warming.

Giving the government the power to brainwash our children at will is such a bad idea I’m amazed it took us this long to realize it. But that cat is out of the bag now.

I wasn’t criticizing brainwashing, that’s just another word for parenting.

This is an opinion so broad that it has to be rooted in ideology rather than like, basic levels of human thinking or consideration of 99.9% of peoples' lives on earth
