Both yes and no. Historically allowed people to evolve and make deals with other nations all over the world. That's good. It's good when it's regulated. No when the modern day (unregulated) capitalism has failed, imo.

Elaborating what I mean with unregulated: Megacorporations and monopolies Uncompetitive practices Tax havens (low taxes for the rich via loopholes) No social welfare system Rapid inflation Uncompetitive salaries and high prices for healthcare (US) etc etc.

I mean, yeah, it's better than feudalism, but feudalism was better than tribal governance. Just because something has improved society, thus being "a force for good", doesn't mean it remains so.
