IMO trad isn’t losing, it’s emerging, and I think you can draw a pretty clean line there from a culture that increasingly uses “vanilla” as a put-down for girls that don’t want the crap beaten out of them during sex & “ghosting” as a euphemism for using & discarding sex partnershttps://twitter.com/Aella_Girl/status/1417312778310746113 …

something like, I've seen people really deeply hurt by far-slider trad sexuality, and I want some reassurance that trad sex ppl aren't gonna do that again, that they actually care. given that, I feel a lot of flexibility and space for it.

I think both of you are advocating for balance using different words. The difference is whether you see the trad scene as advocating for homogenization of the entire dating culture or not. I read it as implicitly doing so, making both cultures homogenizing, but I could be wrong.

Maybe those are convos that get prioritized in situation where they plausibly could happen. Also I assume they did, when trad was norm, but to worry about them now seems like worrying out what to do when we have TOO MANY nuclear power plants... it’s fan fiction, not priority

It doesn’t feel like that to me? Like pretty regularly in The Discourse I am reading along like ‘that seems reasonable’ and then I get a whiff of something and I’m like wait a second that is a worrying thing to say and seems like it isn’t sufficiently far from the threat
