also I wanna say I'm impressed at talking so openly at a privileged thing that's inevitably gonna piss people off, that's hard man and why you almost never see rich people processing their feelings around it in front of others

It's not cool. I don't care about the rich part, but it seems it took him years and years and eventually drugs to figure out what is self obvious to almost anyone else in seconds.

The vast majority of rich people don't know they're rich. I didn't know I was rich for years. My SIL taught at NYU, she asked a class how many people's families had private jets. Then she asked how many thought they were middle class. Same hands.

Life without purpose or life without money? To some extent I would prefer life without money even if my purpose is money.

I tell you what, he can just give me the $100,000 and problem solved. Then for his next birthday, coming next month, his mom should just get him a pair of socks, and that should make him much happier.

I don’t know if jealousy would best describe the root of many people’s judgement on this thread. When it comes to someone “complaining” about their privileges, I can understand why this thread is hard to resonate/sympathize with, especially when it can be triggering.

Even though OP wasn’t asking for anyone's sympathy. I did not read this thread as OP complaining or wanting sympathy, I think it’s an honest and open discussion that gives insight to problems a lot of people have shame talking about.
