i don't care if being gay is a choice or not. I don't care if you woke up and selected the 'gay' option cause you wanted to be edgy, or if it's genetic, or caused by aliens implanting gayness or from being molested as a kid, literally any reason is fine because being gay is fine

I don’t quite get the homophobia on the right. I suspect three underlying causes: - inborn disgust reaction (adaptive due to higher risk of infections?) - gay hedonism goes against family values - gays suspected of underlying pederasty But still don’t get the intense hate.

i used to be real anti-gay, pro conversion camps, etc. for me (and my culture) as far as I can tell it was bible based + disgust reaction, where the disgust reaction allowed greater amplification and focus on certain bible verses

the actual argument i received was "man and woman were created symbolically as representations of god and man, and marriage as god's marriage with the church; it's a perfect design, and marrying man-to-man is not in line with this symbolism and a violation of god's intent"

And prophetic announcements don't forget those. Tbf I think a fair close reading of the Bible is pretty clearly gay is terrible message. No amplification necessary.
