wanna start an actually-good sex research institute that isn't bound by academia and also helps teach people how to interpret research for themselves, how should I go about getting funding?

There are people who apply for grants/fundraise professionally and tend to know the landscape of a given cause area pretty well (institutions, individuals, govt. bodies).

im wary of fundraising through more trad methods like grant applications, cause i was under the impression you have to do things like get approval from ethics boards

's Bonk gave me the impression that this research area is pretty ignored by traditional funding avenue. But, that book was written more than a decade ago. One hopes funding is somewhat easier now.
