if we heavily stigmatized plumbing - imprisoned and culturally shamed plumbers, excluded them from banking and housing, I betcha we'd see much higher mortality rates among people who choose to become plumbers. But still i'm not sure the answer here would be "don't hire plumbers"https://twitter.com/DrJessTaylor/status/1410014041775476737 …

We often hear "Sex work is work", but we rightly heavily stigmatise other forms of work, like child labour, sweatshops, and slavery because they are unethical work practices that exploit people who are often vulnerable, living in poverty or forced against their will. Thoughts?

Everything you mentioned is unethical. There is no ethical form of child labor same for any of the others. But not all porn is exploitative and unethical. That’s the problem. People tend to dismiss the whole industry which is why people don’t talk openly about.

“But not all porn is exploitative and unethical” That’s literally what porn is. All forms. At least be honest about it

I mean you do realize I have been in sex work for nearly a decade? and when I hear ppl talk about my job like that I just can't really take it seriously

Understandably, you wouldn’t take such statements seriously. Most human beings hearing such things about them or their choices would react the same. What led you to sex work? Was it the promise of mediocre pay for hard work w/ opportunities for advancement?
