another theory is that i posted on reddit and fetlife; reddit responses have mostly men, fetlife is slightly more balanced, with more women, so I may have gotten disproportionately kinky women

I strongly assumed men would have a higher average score; they tend to be more interested in more things, and on my previous kink survey they reported higher interest in most things.

Also more men in the sample rating taboo-ness may easily mean kinks “normal” among men are rated to be less taboo than those rare for men but more common for women. Would be illuminating if there was data on people’s ratings of their own kinks vs other’s ratings of them.

Hypothesis: large portion of your audience is from your porn career. Of them, women are probably more likely to be non-heterosexual than men.
