not really sure, my guess is that some ppl are identifying as asexual because they're not interested in having sex, but they might still masturbate?
there are people who would answer as asexual but nevertheless very occasionally do feel sexual attraction. doesn't have to be a sharp binary
There's a small contingent of asexuals that are just fetishists to such a degree that they don't experience sexual attraction outside that fetish.
Not that that's gonna account for all of it. But yeah, asexuals masturbating isn't rare.

Asexual means that you're not sexually attracted to anyone, not that you can't enjoy sex or have libido necessarily
