Doesn't matter how excellent you are if your kid spends seven hours a day in a state institution and/or has access to the internet.
Youth rebellion isn't normal or natural, very rare in healthy societies.
Had restricted internet, for most of childhood was very heavily restricted media, I didn't listen to secular music or watch the classic high school movies. Had zero secular friends, was pretty insulated
(did watch sci fi later on, and did listen to some non-standard secular music and a lot of classics like the beatles. Also were allowed to watch some select family secular shows my parents previewed beforehand, like the cosby show)
