to clarify a few things 1. I talk about men as kinda gross in this thread, but I'm intentionally doing a pretty narrow aesthetic. I've also talked really glowingly about male sexuality and equally grossly about female sexuality; i don't mean to sound like i uniquely hate menhttps://twitter.com/Aella_Girl/status/1394349022047916033 …

3. it's also true of non-paying men in my personal life, and I've historically been pretty slutty so I've got a decent sample size. It's just less noticeable because personal-life men have tended to be less 'business successful', they're less polished, so change is less startling

4. a point i didn't emphasize enough was that this transformation is only stark cause of pressures on men - particularly high visibility, successful ones - to be nonsexual or sexually 'pure'. I wrote this after reading about Bill Gates and feeling mad at society's surprise.

It *is* a separate breed. It's not money or power or the lack or it or anything that unites these men, it's the simple fact that they would pay for control over a fellow human being. That's a very specific kind of man who desires that, and that your selection effect right there.

There is a very specific kind of male who would go out paying sex workers. That is regardless of the social/economic class they occupy. It's a specific mentality that causes someone to do that. And yeah, that's a very strong selection effect.

You can't really say "they're similar in other ways so they must be similar in this way". If I worked as an optician, I would see men who were from all walks of life at a representative level, but it would be silly for me to say that therefore all men need glasses
-
Yup, it seems silly to say there's no selection bias going on when the vast majority of men have never been with a prostitute. The only way there could be 0 selection bias is if men self-selected on a completely random basis, which is obviously not the case.

This is quite a staggeringly stupid thing to say.

You are wrong. It’s not common place for men to buy sex. It is a select group.
