I don’t understand how he’s not wanting to just grab a baseball bat and start swinging at the guy/chasing him out of their home. It’s one thing for couples to agree to be open, it’s quite another to sneak around. How can the wife have any respect for him if she finds out he knew?

Fair enough, albeit that is only a few months on. He's seemingly not even managed to bring up the obvious question of how she'd feel about him seeing others. Doesn't seem fair on the other guy's wife either, there are some obvious risks there: other guy's wife might (1/3)
