I feel like I'm in crazytown when I express distress about taxation - literally people forcibly taking away your property - and ppl act like I'm the crazy one. Sure, you could argue that this forcible theft is worth it, and I'll respect that, but it's still not crazy to be upset.

This is such a tired and poorly informed take. No one is forcing anyone. We live in a democracy, taxes are as low or as high as the majority decides. The social contract requires the levying and collection of taxes. If not, you don't have a society.

Great question! To cram into super-brief summary 1) would need stronger government that resists corporate influence/subsidies 2) need a roll-back of regulation that stifles innovation/competition 3) tax based on externalities 4) vastly reduce scope of govmnt.

Yes, I do require mandatory taxes, but I consider them a necessary evil that should be minimized as much as possible; mostly I'm hoping "general damage/risk to others" can be taxed, as opposed to just earning a wage, so it's structured as a good incentive.
