I feel like I'm in crazytown when I express distress about taxation - literally people forcibly taking away your property - and ppl act like I'm the crazy one. Sure, you could argue that this forcible theft is worth it, and I'll respect that, but it's still not crazy to be upset.
I think things are *much* more complicated; what if most people decide doing a really terrible thing to minorities is what is good for them? Imo the lowest tier rule would be "Prioritize human right to not have bodily autonomy infringed, or property removed" or something

History is full of the majority imposing their will on the minority. Thankfully (I think) we are more enlightened. Your rule can only realistically be achieved by the state preventing individuals infringing those rights though. Your net autonomy increases via some tax.

People's moral sensibilities, combined with self-interest and care for others in the tribe, will never lead to most of them prioritizing a (made up, after all) "right" to private property. We're animals who love food, vacations, and healthcare. That trumps all, for most people.

Hence why we agree to pay some taxes. Can you imagine how poor healthcare would be if it weren’t funded by taxes!
