I feel like I'm in crazytown when I express distress about taxation - literally people forcibly taking away your property - and ppl act like I'm the crazy one. Sure, you could argue that this forcible theft is worth it, and I'll respect that, but it's still not crazy to be upset.
I'm glad you're happy to pay for taxes, but just because I'm okay with a consent violation doesn't mean I should go around telling other ppl they should be okay with it too. I'd be way more ok with paying a % for communal things if it were voluntary.

Fair. But collectively society had to arrive at some kind of equilibrium set of rules that optimises the quality of life In aggregate. This necessarily means some people are going to be less happy with where that equilibrium lands.

I think things are *much* more complicated; what if most people decide doing a really terrible thing to minorities is what is good for them? Imo the lowest tier rule would be "Prioritize human right to not have bodily autonomy infringed, or property removed" or something
