It's hard for me to fully get non-binary because in very cis. I feel female and so whatever i do is something a woman does and if somebody disagrees that's a problem with their sense of my gender. Shedding that sense altogether is definitely a mental stretch for me
It's quite easy. All you do is female because you, a woman, does it. If someone who is not a woman does it, it is not female.
What non-binary people do is non-binary, because non-binary people do it.
Non-binary people feel non-binary.
The things themselves have no gender. U do.
Btw cis is not necessarily in contrast to being non-binary. If someone assigned you non-binary at birth, you'd be cis.
Cis or trans really just means whether the doctor put you in the same house as you did yourself during your lifetime or not, respectively.
i guess idk what female *is*. Like, if I am female and I do things, then they're female - that doesn't tell me what it is. If you say "Whatever a tree does is treelike, because it's a tree", that doesn't answer my question of "what is a tree?"
has a good video on that question, though.

But ultimately I think there is no absolute answer. It's as much as subjective mess as the human experience in general.
