Did you offer a release form or something similar to the participants that gave you their permission to share the data? This sounds like a consent issue. Did they all give you their consent?

The LLC means nothing, and you can do whatever you want with data collected voluntarily. You may get booted it of the group, but it sounds like you're not welcome anyway.

Lawyer here, licensed since 2018. Based on simply what you shared ("because it's an LLC"), no. The circumstances could change based on further facts (e.g., triggering potential contractual or trademark arguments) to inform the entire situation, but it seems unlikely.

Agree. Is there written agreement about this data? That is normally how these issues would be addressed upfront. If there isn’t one, it is difficult to prevent a member with free access to (non-private, often statutorily protected) information from sharing it.
