i don't go in fundie spaces often, and mostly do it occasionally for nostalgia. i just joined one and forgot that the christians do the tattling thing, mentioned my name, and then had to ask the christians afterwards not to tattle. They *did* agree not to, which was nice of them.

Yes, it's been an ongoing consideration for me. But a few things - 1. lots of people online really hate me, and it's safer for me if they don't know my real name or my family. 2. legal fears over my past sex work 3. i've said stuff about my dad that would hurt my family's income

I've wondered why they do that. I'm from a small town and people have been doing the same to me forever. It seems they believe telling my father about me will alleviate worry he has or will provide him some comfort in knowing what I'm doing. I think it's weird but harmless.

I only mention my birth name in places that's not associated with the Aella name, and when it's relevant. In this case, ppl were asking me details where it seemed like a natural, nonthreatening thing to mention.
