I feel like I try not to meditate often because being aware of the passage of time continuously slamming through me like an infinite semitruck is very distracting and makes it harder to write spicy tweets

That sensation of time-awareness is just incredibly creepy. Also becoming acutely aware of my own lack of free will, e.g. “I am thinking things, but I really have no choice or control over what I think next” is super off-putting. Meditation is a real mixed bag

This is exactly the reason why I meditate. My default is to be aware of Time, Entropy, and the inevitable decay of my mind and all that it loves. When I meditate, I turn all of that off and find solace.
