I don't believe the pain of an abusive relationship is "worth it" but it is past now and I think I've learned from it. Pain in pursuit of a worthy struggle is a different story.

I see how this can work but what if the pain wasn’t it?

For me the key to making this work, especially if I only see "senselessness" (unfairness) in pain, is understanding the perspective it gives me. Which is a way of further knowing myself. The exp itself is, usually, shit; most people won't arrive to "dearly loving" shit, I feel.
