It still surprises me when, in discussions about sex work, anti-sex-work feminists are extremely quick to dismiss my experiences for literally any reason under the sun. I'm too-online, I'm too-successful, I'm white, I 'choose' to do this - aaaanything to mean I'm not valid.

It just feels... arrogant? Like, for someone who's never done sex work and likely has met few, if any sex workers, to go to someone who's been in the industry for a decade and confidently be like "Naw, you don't know what you're talking about"

Most tribal resentments these days are based on intelligent, knowledgeable and caring people trying to discuss complex topics over text and then blaming each other when it doesn't work. Social media, email or Twitter text without live talk cannot lead to relationship improvement.

I feel like you're genuinely interested in discourse and seem open-minded enough to consider their ideas, so when they dismiss you it must seem like a waste of time- but their attitude helps keep "supply" down and you can price accordingly?
