I'm sorry I'm still not over the massage parlor shootings. This guy explicitly targeted sex workers, both his stated motive and every piece of evidence points to this, yet the discourse is almost entirely about general anti-Asian hate crimes.

Were the women sex workers or did he murder them because he thought they were sex workers? If he just assumed they were sex workers because they were Asian and working at a massage parlor, I think the race angle is relevant.

apparently he'd frequented the places before and they were verified as locations of prostitution. So I think he knew.
what i dont get is why anyone is still circumspect about his motives. from his initial statement it is clear that 1) the shooter believed they were sex workers and 2) that is why he targeted them.

Where did you get the sex-work verification from though? I haven't read anything about that, although, as a Sinologist, I've read quite a bit about most "recent" anti-asian hate crimes.
