The massage parlor shootings weren't targeting asians, they were targeting sex workers, of which asians in that area happened to make up a high number. It seems silly that this is being reported as violence against asians instead of violence against sex workers.

You’re painting this as the victims were coincidentally Asian, when 6 Asian women were killed, and I find it really gross. Three massage parlors were targeted. If it wasn’t a racially motivated killing, he could have driven to a Nevada brothel instead or a strip club in Atlanta.

Also I'm not denying lots of asian-targeted violence happens, I think this is very true and bad and in some areas underreported. In this specific case however it looks to me like an instance of the media erasing sex workers.

The media has done a very good job of erasing Asians and anti AAPI hate crimes. We used to it and sick and tired.
