like waht the HELL. why the FUCK are women in a very feminist world that distrusts men, so into sexual submission? why do so many women have rape fantsies when society classes rape as one of the worst things that could happen? how common throughout history are rape fantasies?

why the HECK are men not as aroused by rape fantasies if women are, given theres a big incentive for men to be as sexually attractive as possible to women? we see this in terms of "having money" but *not* in terms of sexual fantasies. wtf? This is all confusing but-

imo vaguely points to sexual fantasies not being as pliable/culturally informed to the same degree as other mating behaviors. but if its more "inherent" or whatever, WHYYY is it mismatched between men and women? thats a weird thing for evolution to do

unless evolution drummed its fingers together, cackled evilly, and said "fewer men reproduce than women, and we need to make only a few men chads and the rest can just go be turned off by rape fantasies and help around the house" IN WHICH CASE THIS IS FRIGGIN WILD

but even if that's not the answer - why is this not one of the most common points of research and discussion i do not understand. this feels like a giant gurgling pit of juicy findings to pull out and write articles about and then get into wars on twitter over.

I always assumed women's proclivity to rape fantasies was do to a lot of procreation across human history being of the "rape and pillage" variety. Women who thought the marauding barbarians approaching the village were kinda hot were more likely to... reproduce.

Also less likely to get killed.

There's a little bit of ev psych theorizing about this, e.g. some papers by Eva Jozifkova. It is under-researched, because it is taboo.https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23160222/

Thank you!! Will read How do I go about finding all the existing literature and then doing more research myself?
